Ahh, the crazy dot-com boom. Hired into InterVisual for my combined business experience and technical knowledge, my role was one of leadership, skill and direction. I worked closely with the company's largest clients (Xerox, Bell & Leon's Furniture to name a few) in a technical and advisory role. As the Technical Director at Time Is Money (an NRG Group incubated start-up), and member of the Management Team, my role was to simply make it work. This entailed project managing a team of developers (programming in Java, JavaScript, JSP and using SQL Server), designers, and support staff.
I performed an intensive route rationalization analysis, to prepare for impending deregulation in Ontario. My efforts resulted in a detailed daily profitability statement for every single bus movement in the entire system. I created and prototyped various new technologies. I was also responsible for various advertising programmes for all lines of business. Creation of Annual Business Plans. Quarterly presentations for the company senior executive team to present to the Board. I assisted in the eventual creation of Greyhound Air.
